Get to your Goal

What do you want?

There's some goal you're looking to achieve. A dream you want to make a reality.

Have you named it? Described it? Painted the picture of the impact achieving that goal will give you?

What feelings come up for you when you reflect on that future? What excites you about it? What scares you about it?

The scary part: can you name it? How is it impacting the actions you take or don't take today?

How important is this goal to you? What meaning does it hold? What is the goal worth to you?

What is holding you back from pursuing this goal? How might you work around those challenges?

What are the risks of the goal? What might you have to give up?

What happens if you don't pursue your goal at all? How does that feel?

If you achieve your goal, what could happen next? What will you be free to do? What other opportunities may show up?

If you were to take one small step towards the goal, what would it be? How could you make that small step easy and fun? What will remind you to do that step? What will you do to celebrate taking that first step? What might need to happen to prepare you for the step after that?

To whom can you tell your goal? What support can you ask of them that will assist you in this pursuit?

How will you keep your goal in mind every day?

When and where will you start?

These are questions you can work through yourself, but when they’re said out loud to another person, the answers become even more powerful. This is the value of coaching: it bolsters you to accomplish your goal. With a coach, you are clear on your goal, you have concrete steps to move ahead, you are equipped to work through the challenges, and you are achieving more than you thought possible. What are you waiting for? Now is your opportunity.
